Title: Emergency help needed
Post by: hehehemann on February 24, 2004, 11:30:25 AM
I went out riding my bike today, travelled up the coast rode, it was gorgeous. I decided to stop at the local Kmart and get a new key cut. After I left I got on my bike, it srated okay but everytime I use the throttle the bike cuts off. Same with the choke, it revs high then cuts off. I tried putting the fuel onto reserve as it does seem low but still the same problem. What could be the problem. Could it be something as easy as low fuel ?

Thanks.

PS The reason I used emergency help is because the bike is still parked at K-Mart, I don't trust leaving it there.

I would say it's most likely just too low on gas.

Try prime... Yes K mart isn't the best place to leave the bike... I have noticed Kmart are in the worst of locales even in relatively safe areas... but usually not as bad as the other mega mart.
Cool.

Prime does the same. When the bike starts the throttle cuts off the engine.

Well this newbie has things going again :) hehehe Low gas, ran to the garage and filled up a cannister, dumped it in and voila! it works :)
Went back to the garage and filled up the bike...wow $6 to fill up the tank.

Thank you for those replies. Help is always at hand quickly here...thanks people.
