I need help from someone that has expirience with the starter clutch. On the photo there is marked gear. Should this gear have axial freeplay? If yes than how much axial freeplay?

Yes it needs some freeplay, after the engine starts and the starter stops that big gear just sits there while the crankshaft turns inside it at speeds up to 11k rpm. It needs ample freeplay and lubrication. I never measured it but I think mine had about a 1/32" or so. It probably varies a bit from bike to bike, the rotor is located on a tapered journal on the crank.
I am in dilema because sometimes i hear some noise, i dont know how to describe it. Something like rolling inside, it is not loud and sometimes it is there sometimes no. And beside freeplay on the gear i have not found anything suspisous. Any suggestions?
When the starter clutch starts to give up the ghost the noise comes and goes. It's a clanking noise. Perhaps yours is starting to get 'tired'.
Keep your ear on it see if it gets worse?
I hope you asked before using that stock pot to make Suzuki-Soup!
