286cc and 471cc parallel twins, a trellis frame, looks like a modern take on the cruiser motif.
The 300 is very light weight, and for a cruiser so is the 500. I think the new Rebel 500 is like 100 lb lighter than my dad's Shadow 750 and will most likely have more power to boot. And better fuel economy, and fuel injection.
Cool?
It's cool to see their 500cc parallel twin powerplant in more than just sporty/adv bikes. Honda has always been an innovator, and I hope the 500 Rebel does well.
The 300 as a modern update is also a welcome change to the tried and true Rebel name.
At $6k they're poised to take the entry-level/lightweight cruiser game by storm. HD and Yamaha better watch out!
Hopefully we see the Street come down in price, and maybe Yamaha will make a smaller displacement Bolt. They'd be smart to.
I like the look of these bikes. I am definitely not a cruiser person, but these do have a "cruiser with modern styling" feel to them which I think that section of bikes desperately needs. For the demographic theyre marketed towards, I think they'll do well.
Wow that looks nice! Now i am in a pickle between this bike or a used BMW f650!
