Title: What option should i take? ebay product any good?
Post by: emanuel_v19 on December 04, 2016, 09:23:16 AM
Hello all,

So i want to raise my handlebars up about an 1" and get them a bit closer to me(more pull back). I recently ordered some Bike master GP Touring handlebars and waiting to install them to see how they will fit.

I have a few options and was wondering what you guys think is best:

1 -  Buy some stock clamps, about $25ish or so on ebay, and that will raise it up a bit and see how they will fit with the GP bars.

2 -  Buy these which have a pull back too

3 - or these with pull back

4 - or these with pull back too

Now, these GP bars are supposed to have more pull back than stock so i will try them on first and see how that goes. My main question here i guess is if the ebay risers are worth the money. I know there are other options but they are like $100 and i don't really have the money to spend at the moment. As far as the stock ones, they are cheaper but they only raise the bars. I am in a little pickle :/

What do you guys think of these ebay risers?

Not certain about those parts in particular, but I've had fine luck getting bike parts off of EBay.  Heck, half my current bike is made from parts I found there.  So far, so good.

Those risers are not a particularly high stress, high load bearing part. As long as you put a bit of threadlocker on all the bolts, I think you'll be fine.

More expensive stuff is just as likely to be made in a similar factory from China, but with fancier marketing and packaging.

I thought I'd like the contrast between the silver and the black risers, but it turns out I'd have to go with number 2.

I almost went with those myself but in the end I did not like the ugly hole they leave at the bottom. I ended up going with the motech risers, they are nicely made and well finished and also come in black.
