Title: Valve shims
Post by: the_63 on December 22, 2016, 03:50:11 PM
Hey guys,

Dumb question, is there any difference between the valve shims for a GS500E and a GS500F?

All years of the GS500 use the same type of valve shims.

I was just checking because the people I tried to buy shims from are sold out of 2.60mm for a GS500 1989-2000. But they do have 2.60mm for a GS500 2001+

It's just so annoying.

Actually, I think the Suzuki shims are fairly common across a lot of the bikes.  29.5mm I think is the diameter and that's the main measurement you'd need when shopping for shims besides the thickness. :thumb:

Yeah 29.5mm diameter. I think it's kawasaki that a 29mm. It just sowed that seed of doubt in mind. Even though I was 99.99% sure, better to ask than just be wrong.
