Title: Starter and headlight cut-out: electrical wiring
Post by: SFra on January 23, 2017, 08:21:01 PM
Hello,

I'm hoping to get some help troubleshooting a wiring issue that I've been having.

While riding my headlight can cut out and sometimes the bike wont start. If the headlight cuts out while riding, I can press the pass button (for high beams) and it will come back on. If I can't start the bike I've found hitting the headlight does the job.

Should I just take the headlight off and poke around for bad connections?

Thanks!

Short answer: yes.

Long answer: most likely your problem is around the ignition switch and the associated wiring. Clean up all the connections in the headlight bucket and apply some dielectric grease. If the problem persists , let us know.

All fixed. It was a loose connection - took a while to find.
