Title: PHILLIP ISLAND INTERNATIONAL CLASSIC
Post by: prmas on January 28, 2017, 11:31:43 PM
I spent the day at Phillip Island GP Circuit today with some friends from the "Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club".
The event was the Phillip Island International Classic.  :thumb:
There were thousands of people with teams from Australia, England, Ireland, New Zealand and other places competing for the glory of winning.
There were several famous riders who were former Moto GP or Super Bike racers.
Although I did not see him. I was told that John McGuiness of IOM TT fame was there too.
For me it is a 250km round trip and my GS LOVED the run.
I have to admit that I gave it a bit of curry a couple of times but the harder I pushed, the better it ran.
It was comfortably warm, about 32 degrees C.
All in all, a great day with friends watching Classic bikes racing on a famous GP Circuit.   :woohoo:

Yes, I did. I will try to post one or two but I am not very skilled at it!

I was not particularly looking for them but I did pass a couple of GS500s whilst walking through the parking area.

I have tried to attach photos but they are too large.

Here is a link to a clip of one of the race starts today and another of them at full speed down Gardner Straight.

The website doesn't support uploading (any longer).
Photos have to be hosted at another site like ImageShack or PhotoBucket.

Thanks for that info "Watcher". I will try to get some onto PhotoBucket if I can remember how to do it.
There was a beautiful Brough Superior SS100 and an immaculate EGLI Vincent in the pits.
Both are worth a small fortune but are registered and ridden on public roads by very senior-aged owners (70-80YO).
The Vincent was ridden to the track and back home afterwards, about 200km.

I have just finished uploading a few pictures to Photo Bucket.
The link is below.
You can find the Brough and Vincent amongst them.
