Title: Upgrading: Which springs?
Post by: Cainus83 on February 06, 2017, 11:31:54 PM
Hi folks,

I know this has been covered allot but i really suck at digging up the right threads for information.

My GS500 and i have been together for a year now and it's time to treat her right and upgrade the front suspension.
I'm thinking of getting some Sonic Springs and having a local guy fit them for me.

I can see there is far too much travel in the front. This past weekend i took a pillion for the first time who was only
55kg and the handling was very ordinary.

I punched my numbers into the Sonic Springs calculator. It recommends 0.85 for normal riding or 0.95 for aggressive street riding (I'm 100 kilograms).

What springs and rates have you folks experienced? I'd appreciate any recommendations you could offer.

Cheers
Cain

Here's your best bet for info from other owners (thanks to Showbiz):

And I highly recommend Sonic Springs - not only are they great products, but Rich Desmond's customer service is top notch. He will be happy to discuss what you need if you contact him. But Rich has "spidey sense" when it comes to suspension - he seems to pop up when people ask about it.

Either the 0.85s or the 0.90s, depending on how aggressive a rider you are. The 0.95s are too much.
