Title: Bike won't rev past 6k in gear under wot
Post by: jamesf on June 29, 2017, 05:53:38 PM
So I just had my 2002 gs apart working on a slight idle issue, fixed two vaccum leaks, adjusted one valve, rejetted the carb, and installed a k&n lunch box. When I took it for a ride I couldn't get it to go past 6k or so when wide open, I could get it up to 9 or so at like 3/4 throttle, but it felt like when I hit main jet it died. So I thought the k&n might not be sealing right or something, so I put the stock box back, now it's the same if not slightly worse. I have no clue what it could be, I went up to a 142.5 main from a 127 or whatever stock is, but it just seemed like it was leaning out not running too rich. Logic dictates that since the only thing I changed was jets it has to be them but it just feels like it's leaning out to me not going too rich, since there's no smoke or anything . Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Problem solved, I'm a complete moron, took right side bowl off and the main jet was just sitting there. Must not have tightened it enough. Runs like a champ now
