Title: 'zthis Info Still Good? - rejetting
Post by: 78530i on July 11, 2017, 07:49:37 PM
http://wiki.gstwins.com/index.php?n=Upgrades.Rejetting says:

pilot 40
main 140
washers 1
turns 2.5

for 2000e with stock beat-up re-welded exhaust, KN Lunchbox AF.
I'm an xl size rider

I used the same wiki when I re-jetted before with stock AF and:

pilot 40
main 125
washers 1
turns 3

,which is ok now; but carbs need service after 4 years and one bad set of fuel hoses that crumbled. Not to mention being upside down and thrown to the ground.

Objectives:
Open up the top end. With my sprockets, the bike feels a little truck-like.
Inspect and clean fuel delivery hoses and valves.
See if I like the louder intake sound.

Pm Buddha to be sure, he knows jetting. Down the road if you inquire about tires, Gsjack is the go to guy. But that combo was what I used was on a 97 though.

Thank you. I'm going to go for it.

I don't like rejetting with K&N lunch box and a stock exhaust. Maybe its 140, maybe not, no idea. I didn't make any runs with that setup and the O2 sensor.
Cool.

Ouch. Well, I bought the jets already. I can always switch back. I'll share my results though I don't have an O2 measurement device; and drivability is so subjective.

I was going to rejet with and add a K&N but Buddha suggested otherwise with a stock exhaust so I'll be interested in your result. BTW what is your fuel economy with the jetting as it now is. For the record my is 350km/217miles from full till reserve then another 120km/74miles on reserve, which means that rather than there is 1L more in reserve and 1L less in the main tank than is stated on the specs.

I hit reserve at about 135 miles (217km?); but I am big and heavy with non stock sprockets (maybe 15/39). Also, I drive short trips around town mostly.
