I've got a 2007 f I bought it off a guy who let it set for a while I cleaned out the carbs check the air cleaner who was all brand new changed the plugs it seemed garat a lot better what the vacuum solenoid disconnected it runs great screams up to redline. After it gets warmed up I hear a clicking noise with you're shifting into gear sounds like you're shifting into gear but it's a lot noticeable I checked everything out but I'm finding out it seems to be the carburetor when I hold my finger against the carbs what it clicks the carbs definitely definitely click and it brings your p.m. up or down a little bit has anybody had this problem it won't keep a steady idle it doesn't stall out but when I'm sitting at a light and I hear this clicking and the tachometer seem to be fluctuating a little bit it doesn't stall out but what the hell is this noise I've got the vacuum controller disconnected because it ran shittier what I had it on anybody had this problem any help would be greatly appreciated
Do you have a hanging idle, or a clicking noise, or both?
It may be spitting back through the carbs, usually caused by a lean condition. What do you have your mixture screws set at? Mine runs well at 3.5 turns out.
I messed up in my post thanks to voice recognition the clicking that I'm hearing when it's idling sounds like is that the same sound as when you shift gears only not nearly as loud it's not a backfire because I took the air filter off and it wasn't backfiring through the carburetor but when it does click when I touch when it clicks the carburetor clicks I can feel it with my finger like there's some electronic thing clicking but there are no wires going to the carburetor
"clicking" is such an ambiguous term, can you get us any kind of video?
Throttle position sensor? On outside of right carb.
