I haven't used Seafoam in my GS, but I did run some through the tank of my Buell, which seemed to help it run a little better.

"Barely have to use the choke to start it" is not a desirable state. This means your idle mixture is too rich. If tuned correctly it should require full choke to start it if it's been sitting more than about an hour since being fully warmed up.
Just FYI. The choke is not a hindrance, it's an intentional tool for cold-starting the bike, required on a correctly-functioning GS.

Genuinely sorry I tried to help. I'll try and avoid that in the future. Although I'm sure it won't be necessary, because it sounds like this is the last problem you will ever have with your bike, since you know how to work on these things.

I believe that if you like the way your motorcycle runs, your carbs are set right whether you have to use the choke or not.
I live in southern Arizona, I see highs over 110°F, my carburetted Ducati and all the two dozen or so carburetted bikes I deal with through the MSF need the choke to start if they've been sitting, even if sitting in the sun.
115°F is COLD for an engine.
A properly jetted engine should require choke to cold start, no ifs ands or buts. If it will fire without the choke it is running rich and you WILL eventually get problems from this condition.

In the OP he apparently had a story about how he was helped by Sea-Foam, now lost forever. Why? Because of pride or some sort of personal reputation? This is a damn online forum! Everyone here, (excepting those who were willing to share who they are) are faceless, nameless, locationless nobodies sitting at a keyboard connected to all the other nobodies via a network of electrical cables. ndlsjk could just as easily be Sir Patrick Stewart as he could be my neighbor on the other side of the apartment complex. Why should anyone here take anything personally?

this is correct answer for me as my pistons look perfect , rings look perfect , plugs look perfect , whole top end looks perfect , pilot jet 20 , mid 60 , main 135 , uni airfilter drop in airbox , 2 1/2 turns out on factory pro thumb screws , I am at Huntington Beach California :thumb:

im not a huge fan of sea foam. ive seen it nearly destroy a vehicles engine. i had always properly cleaned a carb, so never needed it. usually just dismounted carb, stripped it, removed plastic and rubber bits, dunked it in carb cleaner for oh 12 to 16 hours, ( a bit longer than required, then reassembled them, then reinstalled. in the space of 24 hrs. tbh as i said i disliked sea foam. after repairing the damage it caused i wont use it. ( just a personal exp. take it as you will.) a 24 hr carb r&r works just as well. ( for me anyways.
