Title: Gs500e electrical issues.
Post by: Demeaningdonkey on July 22, 2017, 07:22:47 PM
Okay so I have a 94 gs500e and I think my stater is fried. I installed some led fog lights (with the harness and relay) and ut worked fine. But after about 2 weeks starting last night, my lights dimmed and then shortly andfter, my bike died. So I know the battery is dead.
I charged it all day and it read 12 volts before I went on my hour ride home from work and about half way it dimmed and died. So I'm guessing that my stater is the cause?
A few weeks ago, my buddy laid it over and bashed the stater cover in and it smashed a piece of the stater cover into it but didn't look like it  damaged the stater. Any way that could be linked?
I am in desperate need for answers or ideas as its my only ride and I need to be back at work monday.

Do you have a multi-meter? If so, you can test resistance (ohms) to see if there is a short or open in the stator. Good luck.
