Hello all, I hate to be one of those guys who join a new forum only to sell stuff but here I am. The main reason being it's pretty hard to find a captive audience for GS500 parts!
What I have is a 4 way adjustable rear Works Shock for a GS500F (I believe it's designed for a 04-09 but may fit more). Set for a 180-220lb rider. Four way adjustable - shock length, spring preload, compression, rebound.
Hardly used (approx. 1000 miles), removed from bike then sat in a box.
This is the Ultrasport four way adjustable model. This cost $695 new. More details can be found on the website of the manufacturer, http://www.worksperformance.com/html/street.html
Shipped in original packaging with adjustment manual and spanner.
$250 shipped conus. Located in Northern California.

Hi back,
So I hate to be the one to ask, but...
Why are you selling it?
:)
Thanks,
Trwhouse
PS And does anyone else know if this will fit a 1991 GS500E? :)

The GS500 was sold a few years back (bought a Vstrom) and at the time the prospective buyer lowballed on price and so the modifications were removed from the bike.
What did you think of the shock? Any chance you tried any of the less expensive shock swaps before installing this one? I'm curious if its demonstrably better than a R6 or Katana shock.
Also, where/how did you mount the external reservoir?

Unfortunately I didn't ride this bike. I'm selling it on behalf of an older friend who is internet challenged. Without any prior knowledge though I'd say it would be better as it has more adjustability resulting in a better fit to your needs. I would argue the componentry and valving would be of a higher quality, but this is just my opinion.
I believe the reservoir was mounted to the rear pegs.
I am interested in the shock if you still have it.
I am trying to locate it on the Works website. According to the application pdf (http://www.worksperformance.com/pdf/app_guide/street.pdf) They dont have an Ultrasport for the GS500.
Was this a custom setup?
