Just saw the full solar eclipse. I wore the special glasses; Suzy didn't need any. The temperature really did cool down a bit, the streetlights came on automatically, and my photosensitive regular glasses turned pure clear. Awesome sight. This message is off topic, but I wanted to share my experience anyway.
Oh yea right in my front yard. And my second one, in 1980 I saw a beaut that was rated @ 91% in my home town. It got to the diamond ring stage but never past that. This one was a full on blocked for over 2 mins. 100% awesomeness.
Cool.
Buddha.
I was riding home from work during the 75% or so partial eclipse we got here. Even that made it get pretty dim for a few minutes, which was pretty crazy.
One of my neighbors is a physics professor and brought a solar filter for a telescope so I got to look through that which was super neat. I'm definitely gonna take a trip to somewhere in the path of totality for the next one!
Cool stuff, eh?? :) We got to 84% here in Oklahoma City, I had planned to drive up to Nebraska to see totality but just couldn't get away. 2024 for the next one !!
