Hello. I was trying to clean my carbs due to old gas being in there and it making idling hard. So I accidentally rip a rubber tube in the bottom of the carb. Then I try to remove the rubber from the carb piece using vice grips, and it rips off.
I am thinking of using a serrated knife to cut away the ridge and use therest of the carb piece to put the rubber tube on. Hen secure with zip tie. Thoughts? I don't want to buy new carbs😑

Hi, click on the link please. You'll see the rubber tube. And the carburetor piece cracked off in the middle.
That would prolly be the fuel inlet into the carb. I've always thought those T's look a bit fragile. I don't think I'd be happy trying to make it work, you should be able to buy a new T piece?
If that's the fuel line (hard to say), and the hose/line is the only part damaged, then replace the fuel line. While you're at it, replace them all, they all probably have similar age and wear, and you can buy a long length of fuel hose and cut it up to make new ones for reasonably cheap. Use a razor knife or something like that to cut off the old line, being careful not to damage the plastic "T" fitting that it goes into.
If you actually broke the "T" part on the carb, well you get to replace it.
