Title: Electrical wiring: need Identified.
Post by: Lawless6776 on September 12, 2017, 08:24:38 AM
So I blew a fuse in my bike, thought it was a battery. So I replaced the battery and I got nothing.
I then found these wires all sorts of charred. I really don't know what they do I was wondering if
Anyone could help me figure out what these do so I can reattach them. Thanks. These are right next to the battery box on a 06 GS500F. It's the 3 yellow lines the come from the engine case. I would post a photo, but it won't let me. Thanks.

upload an image to imgur and post the url. I just walked outside and couldn't find 3 yellow wires that are the same/on the same spot, on my GS. an 04 F model.

sounds like the wires from the alternator to the regulator rectifier, you'll need to trace them and see where they go to be sure.

theres a couple of reasons as to why it happens but quite a common fault with old bikes. even more common on 90s hondas  :icon_lol:

Yeah, sounds like the regulator/ rectifier as mentioned. They have 3 yellow wires and curry a lot of current. Failed diode maybe? You will need a new one if that's the case but may have fried other stuff.
