Hey all,

I just wanted to give a "hey" to the group.  I'm a far cry to the motorcycle scene, but I just picked up a GS500E for my girl to learn on.  I've been after this specific bike for the last two years from it's previous owner who just had it sitting in almost perfect condition.  All it really needs now is tires and carbs.

The whole ordeal started when I asked her how much she wanted for it since she didn't ever ride it and I knew the carbs were messed up.  She came back to me with $1200.  BWAAAHAAA  So after I got her to okay $500 for all the work I'm gonna have to put into it, she said no.  Well, fast forward two years till last week and got a IM saying she would sell it for $500!  HELL YA!

Now I don't have specifics on the bike right now, but it's in decent condition and only has 1700 or so miles.  I can't wait to go through it and clean her up and get her running top notch!

And once that's done and my girl gets comfy it'll be time for MODS and lots of em!!!!! :thumb:

Sweet deal on the bike.

I just picked up a 90 modle for 350 so my wife could learn.

After a long bath, new plugs, oil, and a carb cleaning (nice article on carbs on this site) it runs sweet and looks good.

I brought the wife out to a local parking lot sunday and she did fine riding for around 30 minutes or so,  This is a great bike for learning and I am thinking about comuting on it also.

Jim

Welcome to the site!  I bet it will be quite a strange feeling to ride the GS coming off your TLR.  I"m sure you'll have to at least try it out before giving it to your girl ;)

oh yeah, TLR + full M4 system is aural bliss
