Laser thermometers are now cheap enough that they m,ake a VERY useful addition to your tool box ( also useful for making sure you Champagne/beer is cold enough).
Our little Suzi is notorious for single cyl running ( I don't love these carbs but other things can crop up). It can be notoriously difficult to tell if both cyl are running properly. If you take a reading on the exhaust pipe at a common distance from the head it will tell you much. Both pipe should be pretty close to EXACTLY the same temperature. If not you have a problem. The thermometers are accurate and fast enough to even give you an idea at various throttle openings under load if you can put it on a dyno and at idle they are brilliant for helping get you initial balance and pilot screw settings( notoriously difficult on anything more than a single.

Just a little note that may help some people with some of the suzi's problems.
Interesting--it sure beats grabbing exhaust pipes. I'll have to check out the prices.
