Title: Jet needle replacement
Post by: Codoloco on February 11, 2018, 01:34:26 AM
Hi  I have a 92 gs500e slingshot and am looking for a new replacement carb jet needle.  Pretty sure the carbs are Mikuni BST33...
Im getting as far as Jet Needle 5dh59 and 5dh59-1 but the 5dh59 are for 2005 and up and am sure that they would fit mine.
Im probably wrong all together.  Is there an alternative replacement needle or do I have to buy stock.  I did buy a carb kit but it came with no needles

I guess I dont necessarily need a needle, just kinda of on a parts spending spree and I figured since Im going' (is the key word) to do a carb clean and kit, I rather be prepared not knowing if I need it or not... ill open it first;)

Needle usually never wears. So you should be fine.

+1 what Buddha said.

Most of what would cause you to have to replace the needle is you damage it while it's removed from the carb. They don't wear, but you can bend or score one by abusing it while the carb's apart.
