Hello all,
My clutch slips in top gear under heavy load. I want to do a 3-point adjustment, including the lock nut under the cover. However, the tutorial here was on Photobucket and is no longer visible. Can someone please provide a link with instructions? Neither my owner's nor my repair manual are clear to me, whereas the tutorial here was GREAT and I got it working a couple years ago.
Anybody got the instructions? THANKS!!!
I should mention I've seen the instructions in the Wiki by gsJack (thanks!) but I seem to remember some sort of pictorial? Am I missing something?
Also, when I look at the rod with the nut and slotted screw under the small cover, I notice that when I pull the lever there is a bit of "side" movement rather than strictly a circular movement. Normal?
TIA!

YEEESSSS!!!! THANKS!!!!!
OK done! Thank you.
My clutch slipped at WOT in 6th at speeds I'm ashamed to mention. If this doesn't fix it I'll suspect the clutch itself.
FFIW, I've never seen the need for any clutch adjustment other than turning the part where the cable enters the sprocket cover by hand and then tightening the locknut. Never needed to adjust at the lever or inside the little sprocket cover window. If it's slipping because there's not enough play then I can't see how it matters whether it's one point or three point adjustment. Just adjust it, if that doesn't work then it's obviously a croaked clutch.
Adjusting the cable either at the lever or the case doesn't physically change the engagement of the clutch, just changes the perception of the engagement point.
If the clutch is worn to the point it's slipping with the cable slacked, no amount of adjusting the cable will change that but the adjustment in the cover will.
That's interesting and counter intuitive to know, I must have a relook at this!

Slipping is usually caused by not having the 1/4 turn of free play at the Rough Adjuster (screw & lock nut) down below, if it's too tight there it is essentially the same as pulling the clutch lever in.
Pulled the sprocket cover completely off and cleaned it out thoroughly and adjusted the pushrod adjuster for the first time and yes there is an improvement. I am able to now downshift without the clutch in higher gears as smooth as upshifting. I think there may have been previously some very very faint clutch slipping, which appears to now be gone.
