Title: WHP / HP
Post by: danci1973 on March 02, 2004, 12:32:47 AM
Hi there!

What is the typical difference between WHP and crank HP on motorcycles?

I know that on AWD cars, WHP is about 20-30% lower than crank HP.

Thanks; D.

10 to 15 % if you use the very optomistic Dynojet dyno results for rear wheel HP. 15+% if use a brake dyno for RWHP. Depends how overly optomistic the crank number is also. Some manufacturer's quote a number from a blueprinted engine, no oil pump or water pump drag, etc.

my dyno is simple....you crank and let the engine rip:

1-Big smile=enough power
2-Big Grin= enough to get u introuble
3-Smile=maybe u should add a few modifications....
