Hi guys
My daughters GS500 started leaking petrol at her work, I've tested the tank remote tap and it trickles when on ON. I'm told this is not right and the vacuum valve should totally turn off the fuel. so I've ordered a replacement.
But also this trickle is enough to overflow the carbs. So do I have 2 faults? Should the float in the carbs be enough to turn off the trickle(//)
Yes the "float needle" valves should prevent this. It's pretty normal for them to leak a little which is why the vacuum petcock is a good failsafe.
If you're getting that deep into the carbs might as well do a whole refresh job with o rings and maybe jets etc. I have a write up on my blog linked in the signature.
