Hello all you loveable gs500 enthusiasts. I recently got myself an 89' gs500. But after alot of research I couldn't find any gs500 like mine? Mine has double headlamps and a fairing kit like none other? Anyone know about this? Hoping some expert can tell me more
Sorry about the bad photo, but couldn't opload a full size photo

Welcome to the forum! You've got a very nice looking GS there
I've seen them before over the years but they are indeed pretty rare. I wanna say that they are OEM?
Here's the wiki link about fairings. The TCP one is almost the same as yours... headlight setup is a tad different.

I'm sure you'll get more replies... somebody'll probably know for sure!

If memory serves, I believe Showbiz is correct. There was an OEM fairing set available way back in the day that looked a lot like that. You might just have a bit of a rarity.
IMO, the bike looks pretty cool. Has a nice old school sportbike vibe.
OEM sold in Spain/Portugal or some 1-2 countries only.
IMHO that would have made an awesome F, which as I understand they sold a lot of in the US especially in 04-06 time frame.
Cool.
Buddha.
I am pretty sure I have seen twin headlight fibreglass fairings from UK and Poland for the GS500 when I was surfing for glass fairings. Don't know if they were their own designs or copies of a Japanese fairing/ Look verymuch like late 80's fairing design from Japan.

I couldn't agree more.
Lookin sweet! If that's a project for her,...what are you riding?? Where pics??? :dunno_black:
I've seen 2005's in worse conditions. how a 89 lasted this long lookin like that, musta been stored somewhere.
Remember brake lines are suppose to be changed every 4 years. unless there is already stainless steel lines on there, then they're solid.
I'm gonna restore some parts back to original state: powder coating frame black, changing the oil sump sealing (leaking), painting the engine (would love some pointers), Repair some broken parts of the fairing(fiberglass), and just a big'O'service.
The bike is stripped apart as of right now, so i'll try and take some pictures during restoration.

Pics would be awesome! Right cbr?? :D :D :D
Best wishes on your restoration. I love seeing a GS get some TLC... Lord knows mine has gotten a lot since I bought it :-*
