Title: PLEASE HELP does someone know what this component is
Post by: pacst1050 on April 02, 2018, 10:36:59 AM
It's on the bottom of the carbs and has 2 pipes from the vacuum side and 2 wires going to it
It also has a cap that as I tried to attach the throttle cables disappears somewhere in the garage
Can I just cap the tube or is the cap special

Vacuum switch for the slide overrun control. Drops  the slides on closed throttle to close airflow on shut throttle. Used with the other switch for the throttle position sensor. You seem to be able to remove the vacuum switch ( and block required orifaces) but the TPS should stay there as it maps the ignition depending on rpm/throttle position.

Thanks,  I found the cap wedged down the side of the swinging arm
But is doesn't want to stay on likes there's pressure behind it. If you think I can just block it I'll do that

There is a post or two on blocking it. You can pretty well remove all the stuff for it right up to the white caps at the top. then block them and the breather ( find the post). You only need vacuum for the fuel tap then.
