Title: Front sprocket cover bolt sizes
Post by: Kookas on April 19, 2018, 06:17:50 AM
I've read these are a 'standard size' but no mention of what standard size. I've lost one of them today (almost lost the others too!). Any idea what size I can use to replace them?

IIRC, they are 6mm bolts. If you find an online parts fiche, they actually list the lengths in the part #. Dunno about the GS, but other Suzuki bikes have a couple different lengths depending on which bolt you need.

It's part 22 here:
https://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/2001-suzuki-gs500-crankcase-cover/o/m6062sch234731

Which says it's 6x50, which is helpful. I'll try for one of those. See if an M6x50mm will fit.

Update: Yeah, the M6x50 fit fine, although I probably should have ensured it was an 8mm head as I got a 10mm. Just means a bit more fun next time I remove the cover...
