Title: yet another leak :icon_rolleyes:
Post by: ferda on July 06, 2018, 11:20:51 AM
Hi all,
I seem to have developed a leak, while my bike has been sitting for the past 6 weeks, from the tach cable connection to the engine. I assume its a seal that has gone. I cant seem to find a part number for this seal. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Do you think this is the part numbered 19 on this parts site?

They say it's
Part number:
0928905002
https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu/en/suzuki-parts/0928905002

But that's for the 2000 bike so go to their home page and choose your bike's year to make sure.

BTW, is it easy to replace that part? Mine looks a little  oily too.
You don't have to get into the engine or anything, do you?

Should be pretty easy - I believe the whole tacho drive can come out where it's mounted to the engine, and there's an O-ring on it which can be replaced.

Nice, I'll put it on the list of stuff to do.

don't be me and think tightening the screw will push the mount home. it snaps off and costs £20...

I found it a bit of a pain to get seated in its hole with a new oring.
