Title: Can This Carb be Saved?
Post by: larsensp on October 27, 2018, 09:24:06 AM
Hey guys, first post on here but I've been a long time member of Honda Twins if anyones familiar with that forum (same username too).

Wanted to gets yall's opinion on the condition of this carb. Not sure what to call this part, it seems like its the emulsion tube that works in tandem with the starter/choke but I'm not sure. It's been sheared off from the carb body.

Any ideas on repair? Was going to take it to a shop here soon to see what they think.

I've never seen that happen.  You could probably remove the broken stubs by threading in a screw and pulling them out, or drill them in the worst case.  But then it needs to be replaced with something.

You're correct about that tube being for the choke.  But what to replace it with, I don't know.  There might be a part available or you may have to fabricobble something with a coffee straw and JB Weld.

I've saved a few of those. If I was in my other house, I may have the parts for it sitting around.
You need that same part off a katana carb rack.
I have done a few swaps. I am sure I have a rack lying somewhere but I am 100+ miles away and likely to not return atleast another week+
Cool.
