Ok after some tweaking and a collar bone broken at the track.... I am back to some "fun" with carbs!
This post will be like a notebook of my rejecting evolution.... or something...
I have little experience in this... but the basic concepts I have learned, suggestions are welcome!
So... I started putting a pair of new sparkplugs (they were marked with 1 for rigth or 2 dots for left at the socket hex.
I will post my detailed carb settings (soon) ( i think is 20 idle- 60 middle at the last clip (bottom) and 2 washers, and 133.5 mains... need confirmation though)
I installed them at let the motor run only in idle for about 10 min.
here the photo. # 2 seems ok.. but the #1 is a bit too white.
After that I went for a spin... using middle throttle...here the results:
I am not sure what to conclude on the ground wire marks (kind of hot/lean maybe)
.
After a full day (10 km), and a lot of WOT:
Mains seem to be lean too! (not that bad)
Next step... I put the KN restrictor... I will spin tomorrow... and compare to the last post... then.. I will start to plan what to do with the carb.
wish me luck!
With the restrictor... after 10 km
the engine was failing in high revs with WOT , I believe that its was suffocating.
The sparks seemed a bit more tanned.
My current (not changed yet) carb settings are the following:
2004 GS500 - Brazil
Idle #20
Middle 0.60mm
Main 1.35mm
Seems that my iddle is rich and my main and middle jet need some drilling job.
The plan now is to remove the restrictor, have some blasts, and at the weekend start to spoil my jets.
