Title: GS500e bearings questions
Post by: mattyabs on February 06, 2019, 09:47:06 AM
Hello all, my first post and looking forward to riding my GS500e.

I am having a little trouble identifying the bearings I need in my rebuild.

Big end bearings
I think I have identified the big end bearings by using the following markings:
Crankshaft markings: L12R
Crankshaft ID: 2

Main bearings
Crankshaft markings: BBBB
Crank case markings: No idea, can't find case markings

My specific questions are as follows:

1: Does the L12R marking mean the left crank marking has an ID of 1 and the right has an ID of 2. Ie I have to have different bearings for each side?

2: Does anyone have a picture or a more detailed explanation of where I can find the crank case markings? I've looked everywhere (in my mind), can't for the life of me find them.

Many thanks

Matt

Crank case markings are in the back side of the block, near swingarm/rear shock
