Hi everyone, there goes another thread related to all LED turn signals. Don't worry, I've done my homework and I know how everything works, but here's my problem:
I've switched to all LED turn signals on my '95 GS500E and also bought one of those cheap adjustable relays. After installing all the turn signals, they all 4 blinked. Good, let's install my new relay that should fix the problem. The surprise is that the bought relay has an L shape of the 2 pins while the stock relay and relay connector on my bike are 2 pins pretty close together, see pics attached.
I have tried just connecting the pins to the new relay with 2 wires, but it doesn't seem to be suitable for LED since now only the correct side lights up, but doesn't blink at all, even if I turn the adjuster either way (this happens with or without the dashboard bulb in) I opened one the relay up and I see a small circuit board with 2 condensers and some SMDs, so it's electrical right, why doesn't it flash at all?
And another problem, how is the L shape connector called? I don't mind cutting my stock connector from the bike and buying a new connector so that I can install the new relay without wires hanging around, I have no idea how to search for that part.
For now I have removed the dashboard bulb and the signals work properly with the stock relay (although obviously faster than normal) and that's why I want to also switch the relay, normal flashing speed and dashboard light. I have an LED dashboard bulb with witch it also works properly, but it's only a 1 way LED and it only works for left or right signal depending how I install it, I didn't find any other type in my city so I've continued using the stock bulb, no led.
Thank you for your time!
This is the relay I have now: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Pin-Speed-Adjustable-LED-Flasher-Relay-Fix-Motorcycle-Turn-Signal-Hyper-Flash/192256695303?hash=item2cc3645c07:g:BawAAOSwBMVZdY2l:rk:14:pf:0

Can't say with certainty concerning the flasher you have but it seems to be incompatible.
you'll have to do the diode mod at the dash indicator to get it to work as well.
