Title: New clutch, won't disengage
Post by: dawson128 on April 22, 2019, 01:07:52 AM
Hello everyone,

Tonight I attempted to replace my clutch using ben2go's upgrade. http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=56043.0

I have everything back together now, but the clutch will not fully disengage. With the lever all the way in, it will still try to slowly roll forward while in gear. I have tried adjusting the clutch a few different ways but nothing is helping.

What is going on?

Thanks for any help,
-Dawson

Have you adjusted the clutch cover adjustment? new discs are thicker and you have to release a bit

If by clutch cover adjustment, you mean the push rod, then yes it's been adjusted. Even with it all the way out, it still drags.

sorry, but, what have you done from the start ?, copying the original settings is no way to do the job correctly. Th new cable could be shorter.

How is the tension in the cover cable end? By dragging you mean it doesnt disengage completely the gears? can you push the rear wheel in gear applying clutch? If not, add tension in the cover screw or clutch handlebar
