Title: Should the gasket be replaced when side cover on starter gear size is taken off?

Preparing for a repair, where I'd have to take off the cover on the side of the starter gear - looking to see if anyone had issues with leaky cover if gasket is not replaced with a new one...

As long as it's in good condition you can re-use the old one.
I use '3-Bond' gasket sealant for a leak-free joint.
