Hello everyone, so I'm pretty new to the mtorcycle scene just so everyone knows. I cleaned my carbs yesterday and let put everything back together today and went to start my bike and my battery was dead. So i hooked it up to my truck and next thing i know its a no crank no start issue but the lights still come on and everything. I pop started the bike and it runs perfect just as before but the push start wont work, not sure if i have messed something up jumping it with my truck or not or maybe i blew my starter or something.

It can be bad to jump using a running car or truck, but unless there's a reason for the battery having died in the first place I would suspect your charging system is failing. Do you have a voltmeter to measure the voltage across the battery terminals with the bike running off idle? It should be in the 14V range at 3000 rpm.
If it isn't, you could try measuring the voltage across the stator wires going into the reg/rec to check that's working correctly. I found this thread that goes into testing the charging system in detail:

The start button is a likely culprit as it is an electrical switch exposed to the elements. Use a wiring diagram which can be found online and test the starter by jumping the switch harness.
Also check the neutral, sidestand, and clutch switches for the same reason. Any of those can prevent the bike from cranking in certain conditions. The clutch lever can be out of alignment with the switch. I have to pull my lever upwards as well as back or the switch won't engage.
Check the starter cable bolt to the starter as well as battery terminals and frame grounds.
Check the starter relay.
How to i jump the switch?
Disconnect the switch from the harness. Using some kind of conductor such as a piece of wire with solderless spade terminals on both ends, insert it into the corresponding terminals on the wiring harness plug.
People also have used a simple conductor similar to a straightened paperclip.
Also note in this case, the Run/Stop Switch will have to be jumped as well.
Good news. It was the starter relay. Jumped it with some wire and started right up.
