Hey new to the forum, upgrading the suspension on my 2001 GS500E.
I see lots of stuff about how post-2006 R6 shocks will work but I have a lot of access to pre 2006 ones. Do pre-2006 ones just not work/fit??
What kind of bottom mount do the pre-2006 ones have? IIRC they are the ones with the round/eye style mount... which won't work with the GS's suspension linkage. It has to be a shock with the U shaped bottom mount.

Ah that's the difference...Yeah it has the round eye mount. I'll see if my local salvage place has any with the U slot.
