Hi guys, I'm looking to jet my new GS soon, and was wondering what #was stamped on the jets you used from K&N. I'm looking to go 127.5 for the mains, but the jets I have are all marked with non-corresponding #'s ie. 115,116,117 etc.
The jet's I've got are left over from a friends jet kit - so I was wondering if anyone knew how to translate these #'s into usable info.
Thanks
Do you know what brand of jet you are going to be using? I don't really understand you. Are you goping to be using a K&N kit or your friends jets. Anyhow the number you listed 115,116 sound really wierd to me.
Sorry, let me clarify...
It's a friends K&N jet kit, he has several gets (about 4 sets) left over - but their marked 115, 116, 117 etc. The K&N kit he has is for Mikuni carbs, but for a different bike
When I rejetted my SV I used Mikuni parts and the jets all had the correct sizing stamped on them. Example a 140 main was stamped 140 - these K&N aren't.
Does anyone know the part # for the mikuni's (127.5)?
K&N numbers are weird and lower than the stock mains... everyone jets up... they make you jet down in stage 1... But their needles are super thin especially the last 1/2 inch. The result is that since the needle blocks flow out of the emulsion tube and the mains let in flow to the emulsion tube they can get by with a little smaller main. If using the stock needles stage 1 is 125 (stock pipe/slip on and UNI/paper filter in airbox), 127.5 is with K&N in the airbox and pipe. 150 for no airbox K&N clamp on's and pipe. If you use K&H's needle use K&N's jets and their chart as a guide. These numbers work only with stock needle.
Cool.

The dynojet (K&N) jet suggested for Stage 1, stock pipe is 118

Miket - Thank You!
Now I just need to check to make sure he has the 118's avail.
In theory I should be recieving my slip on soon, and want to rejet at the same time.
