So I'm home for spring break and i was hoping my body parts would be painted but they're not :dunno: I might as well turn my attention to other details on the bike.
Anyone have any idea what to use to get rid of "scum"? when I say scum I mean I have an 89 with the black engine and all over the engine is this hard, almost film like material that I cannot get off. Is my bike just showing its age or is there some sort of age defying cream that can make it look a few years younger? Also what other stuff do you guys usually use to spif up the bike before the new riding season. Other than the normal wash wit soap/water.
Thanks for the help
get some degreser...
there is also something else you can use...it work great but not a lot of people know about it....it's DIESEL fuel
WD40 or Simple Green on a paper towel will do pretty well. Some people think Simple Green eats paint, but if you wash it with water later, and care for the paint, then who cares?

come-on... quit talkin' like the season isn't already here and get that heap road-worthy so we can RIIIDE :nana:
I used to use GUNK engine degreaser on my old dirtbikes, it worked pretty darned good, but made a heckuva mess. Basically you cover the places you don't want water going, hose the thing down with the GUNK, let it sit about 10 minutes then hose it off and start the engine to evaporate the water.
I use this stuff called No. 7 Tar & Bug remover. It gets anything off anything.
certain kinds of oven cleaner work well also :thumb:
