Hi, can anyone tell me if there is a special tool/technique that I need for fitting my new valve stem oil seals, I've done plenty in the past on various bikes without any trouble but these ones just dont want to go on, not sure if I've been sold duds
I thought they just go on when you push them on even with a finger and the tool I think just gets them into the hole and let you press them true instead of likely crooked with a finger.

I'm not sure if there's a proper tool for it. However, I did my valve stem seals a month ago.
I used an 11mm six sided socket to install them with very gentle tapping from a hammer and lots of oil. The socket sits on the metal portion of the seal without pressing down on the rubber in the middle. I pushed the seals on by hand to start with. Then put the socket over them with an extension. The socket then had a few light taps with a small hammer until they seated. You'll know when they seat because the sound of the tapping changes.
