Currently rebuilding my 2001 GS and found my gas tank is full of holes. I've found an 07 tank for sale, will this fit?

In the US, the GS500(EN) models that fit seamlessly are between 1989 to 2001, Suzuki paused 2003 production, and started the GS500F with full front fairings in 2004. The tanks also changed from a 17L to a 20L. If you are doing what we are trying to do, which is wrangle the 2004 tank onto a 1992 GS500E frame, you likely can make it happen, but just note that there are small millimeters worth of changes on the newer post-2002/03 frames. That means you might be safer with a tank that is older than 2001. You can also call up a local dealership and ask. Best know the part number under the tank, to make sure it would work.
89-2000 tanks are the same, 01 later are the same.
