Is it possible to swap the front forks of suzuki rm 250 on gs 500. The main purpose is to create a dual purpose build of gs500. Touring and offroad. I have these available to buy in my country.
Would be M'fking awesommmmmmmeeeeeeeeeee.
Issue #1: The bearings on a GS are 30 lower and 25 upper. You ideally want the same 30/25 combo - modern upside down stems are all 30/30. So if its 30/30 - You may need to make a upper triple to take a 25 stem.
The second possible issue - if the stem height between the 2 is too far off, you may need to well fab a new stem, fab a bottom triple as well and pull the GS stem out and installing it in the RM triple.
Basically GS is 30X55 lower bearing and 25X47 upper.
Modern bikes like my SV and the dirt bikes with USD FE's are 30X55 upper and lower.
So what year is that RM FE from ? Maybe find one from the late 80's early 90's that are 25X30.
Cool.
