Title: gs500f exhaust
Post by: stackz360 on September 14, 2020, 11:38:18 PM
i have a 2004 gs500f completely stock and i really don't like the way the exhaust sounds it sounds more like a chopper or lawn mower lol I'm trying to get it to sound more like a gixxer or a r1 i want that type of sound those bikes make instead of a low growl chopper sound. does anyone have any input on what i should do to get the sound I'm looking for?? any and all help is appreciated

Unfortunately, there is no way to make a two cylinder bike sound like a four cylinder. If the Gixxer sound is important to you, rather get a four cylinder bike. Or... you can embrace the parallel twin cylinder sound (like I did) and put on a slip-on muffler to get a beefier growl. I quite like the way my GS500 sounds with a slip-on. But I had to modify the dB-killer baffle to get the deep growl that it now has.

But I'm with you, the sound of the stock exhaust sucks big time. Just my opinion. Not everyone will agree.  :icon_lol:

Not sure what each one of these sounds like because I haven't personally tried them but I figured I'd share the list/link... maybe something will catch your eye and you'll give it a go.

FWIW, on the fb group, many people are fans of the Delkevic brand.
