Do you have a Torx driver?  I think that's what you need...  Sorry if you know that already!

no torx hardware on this ignition.  Just rounded stuff, almost looks like it is press fit.

It's the anti-theft bolts most likely....some had a torx type head with a pin in the center of the head of the bolt...so you either buy the special tool....drill the pin part off (yes it can be done...but it's an art..)and use your torx.... or You just drill the head  off the bolt and replace the bolts....
One other option is a hacksaw ...yes a hacksaw,,,,you can cut into the top clamp/ignition switch housing  (where they meet) and cut through the bolts...does minimal damage to the clamp...(nothing that will ever be seen  and it wont affect the new one being bolted up....

The rounded off thing might be that someone tried to take it out...but the bolts like that are designed to not be removed.....

It's easier with the top clamp off the bike...(I assume you have a mangled ignition switch maybe froma theft??).

Thanks, I had kinda figured out it would have to be drilled.  The ignition switch is fine, I just need to get it out of the top triple clamp so I can transfer it to the GSXR USD fork I am putting on the bike.

I think those are "tamper-resist torx" or "t-torx".  I just went to a very well-stocked hardware store and bought the one I needed for $5, but I've also seen a full set of them in the "100 tools for $25" tool sets at Fry's Electronic.

I just changed mine recently with some help from here. It's quite easy and you don't need to drill.

Take the bracket of the fork with the ignition switch on it. Clamp it to a vice. I just used a c-clamp and clamped it to my work table. Now with a cutting disk, or a dremel, I used a small cutting disk on my portable drill, cut a slot ontop of the  screw so that you could fit a flathead screwdriver in. Then it's a simple turn.

It so easy but you have to take disconnect the ignition and take it off with the bracket.,
Title: Left handed drill...

I use a left handed drill bit and a drill set to reverse to remove anything.
Cool.
