Title: GS500 carburetor question
Post by: nikolai_01 on October 25, 2020, 09:56:52 AM
Ok, so I broke the attaching mechanism on the cup/bowl (number 11), to which number 4 attaches. Any idea if the carbs on the 04 are the same as mine, 01 model (made for france) as I read that suzuki introduced a TPS. Also can I take that bowl from an older model, or the carbs are too different?

Suzuki part #11 is called a valve (commonly called a slide). Part number 13501-29FA0
The slide itself is the same on a 2004 as 2001.

The complete USA carb assembly has differences.

Go to a Suzuki parts site such as this. https://www.powersportsdiscount.com/oemparts/c/suzuki_motorcycle/parts

Then you can look at each year and compare.

Thanks for the fast reply! Didn't know that this site has so much diagrams. Definitely going to change that valve from a gs500f 2004 model

UPDATE:
After some more research, i found a brand new valve for a carb from bandit 1200 2001-2006, the valve looks the same, i don't know if it would work. Posting a link to the valve. I would buy used too, but all of the GS bikes selling for parts in my country are <01, newest is '94 and still i dont want to pay 50$ for that piece of plastic. If anybody tried the swap or at least knows if BSR34 has same internals as BSR36 (the one on the bandit) would be helpful.
EDIT: also if i find a newer model GS with a TPS, can i swap the whole carburetor into mine? are there any significant changes, or its only the sensor?

UPDATE2:
Ordered that valve from aliexpress, size is similar to original one, gonna test and update again
