Title: Early gs 500
Post by: nurms on November 11, 2020, 12:59:58 PM
Restored this -90 gs at the summer! Really happy with it, fully original. Valves need little adjustment/checking and slide guide o-rings might have to be changed! Everything works perfectly, even tough slide guide o-rings (not shown in original exploded view) have melted to the grooves, there is no problems with carbs.

What do you think about this "retro" bike?

Cheers,

Looks great! I like the tank bag... I hardly ever go anywhere without mine. The paint and decals look to be in wonderful shape

25 000km driven, stored in dry place. Paint is as good as new on the tank, plastic fairings have not discolored at all. I think bikes are not ment to be stored, but good for me and this one finally gets back on the road!

looks great congratulations!!!!

Thanks!  :icon_mrgreen:

Does anyone know is there any particular advantage the "slingshot" carburetor have over the newer carburetor. I only know that my slingshot carb have one less jet to clean.  :icon_mrgreen: Slingshots should have oval air intakes but I dont remember those to look even that oval.

Cool "slingshot" sticker on the fairings though.
