Hello! I'm restoring a 2000 Suzuki Katana gsx600f and I dropped a copper washer into the crankcase when I was taking off the head. Whats the best way to retrieve it? One of the side covers or maybe the lower pan?
Any help is appreciated. Just trying to figure which gasket to order.
Thanks!
There's probably no good way to predict that, but I would assume anything in the crankcase would eventually settle into the oil pan...
If a bottom end gasket kit isn't too expensive might just want to do that.
Thanks for the help. The pan looks pretty easy to take down, I ordered a gasket🤷♂️. Was just wondering if it was easier going in thru the side, but the pan looks like the way to go.
This site is the best!
I dropped the lower oil pan & just could not find the copper washer. I tried to 'wash' it out with wd-40 but no luck. Then I remembered I had an endoscope that connects to my iphone. I used that to locate the washer & a piece of wire hanger to knock it out.(it was under the front of the crank) Best 10 bucks I ever spent!
