Looking for parts for my gs... Due to the age and my hard riding I'm currently in need of a rotor... Not the actual stator but the flywheel... It contains the magnets. 2 of the magnets on my 92 gs500e came loose and started to rub and make a clunking sound lucky I shut it off in time and no pieces we blown apart... I am located in the United States, Iowa.. can any one help me out with either selling me one that's in great shape or pointing me to a viable replacement.. Please and thank you!! FYI to help your search: The generator rotor from a GS450 should also fit. So between the GS450 and GS500 you have 30 years of donor bikes to find the part from.
It helps to use all the weird names people call that part on eBay. Generator rotor, flywheel, alternator, magneto, etc
Look for damage to the coils on the stator as well. If there's any damage to the coating but not the coil, you can try to put heat resistant epoxy or lacquer - just no exposed metal, cos it will arc to ground then.
