Hello GStwins fans,
i am restoring my 1989 GS500E in original white Suzuki colors. (1989 color scheme: white with blue striping).
*my Question*: does anybody in the World have a White original TANK in this color scheme ?
Please send me a message.
Greating Erik
this is my bike, I bought it in 1989 and this movie is from 2020 after finding it back. I complety restaurated the bike.
Rust all over the place
Very nice, work, you found that exact bike ? same vin ? Or one just like it.
There was an excellent white 89 one that passed its way through a few people here (se7enty7 to Tarzan boy) that started as a 89 but I got to swap it out with an 04 body set and I kept the white as part $$.
My first GS and 5th bike overall was a white 89 as well. Bought used in 95 with 8-9k, run to 48K and sold in 2005.
I had collected a pristine white body set as well as kept the scarred set off my 89 but the tank recently rusted due to a bad coating inside and weather from the outside. I'll fix it - some day.
Cool.

This White GS500 is the exact same one as i bought new in 1989. So my own bike!! i sold it in 1992 and found it back in 2016. I restored it with my dad.
Do you have the White tank (and other parts) ?
Greatings Erik
I have a leaking in several spots white 89 tank, and other white body work. Its really not possible to fix the white tank without ruining its paint. Anyway I a m also hoarding the white LOL. Its my favorite too.
Cool.

Wow, those are two very clean bikes!
Looks like a well sorted Super Sherpa that hasn't seen much time off road. Those are great bikes and rare to see such a clean one.
Since then the Sherpa has reached almost perfect OEM parts and setup, except right side engine paint is peeled. It sat on back of a camper for 20 years, right side out.
I like to bring back to OEM, reversing original owners stuff. Then add what I want which is usually body fitment and carburetors tune
The 89GS took a lot of that, the sherpa less, being a very comfortable bike to start with.

I has entered my permanent non-rider collection. A collection of one so far. I wand a Honda S90 and NSU Max to sit alongside it. Engine work today.
