Title: Right grip cable routing - been a twat
Post by: RedHead_Gez on May 04, 2021, 04:46:03 AM
Hi all, currently rebuilding my project but I have been a twat and not taken a photo of the right grip when I took it all apart.

So the grip has two slots for cable ends, I know one is the throttle but unsure of the second, and unsure as to what way they are supposed to go.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated and the lesson has been learnt, take pictures of EVERYTHING in the future and make sure you have them (didn't realise how many more photos I needed until now)

One is throttle opening and other is throttle closing cable.
If you have rigged a 2 cable grip into a 1 cable carb like I have done, you just use the opening cable, the spring works just fine to close the throttle.
If you rig a 1 cable grip onto a 2 cable carb like I have again, use the opening cable only and ignore the closing one.

Cool.

And note that the opening cable goes in the forward hole.

Many thanks both, going off of some reference pics on google to get an idea of what cables go where.

Will get a new topic/thread up on the project section as soon as I get the time and find where I put the pictures on the computer.

Hey guys, second bit I need some help with as, again I have been a twat and not taken pictures.

Where does the choke cable go? Might seem obvious to those who have done these projects before but if I haven't mentioned already, first project and wanting this up and on the road this summer.

Pictures would be a great help as I do better with pictures rather than explanation (sorry, way my brain works)

Hopefully it's not too much of a bother and someone has the info.

Edit: scratch that guys, got it all sorted now, at least I think I have, hopefully get this done by summer  :hithead: :icon_lol:

Lol, everything else is taking time, now need a new left handlebar (ordered on ebay, should be here by Friday) and still waiting on some parts to arrive.

Buying parts as and when I need them which helps with trying to keep on top of things, but it's pushing the time frame back every time I find something new.
