Got overconfident after having to clean these carbs so many times, ended up drilling out the wrong part of it. Got the right one out in the end but still a major stupid moment.

Can't seem to figure out what it's for. Can i fix it by sealing off the hole again or am i screwed and need to get a new body? Also broke a small piece off the inside, which makes me lean towards it needing to be replaced all together.
Bad side

With good side for comparison

You're proper fcuked. OK that is a plug. See they have to drill the fuel passages in the carb body. That makes these holes from the outside that need to be closed off. The plug does that, and while you may be able to plug it back up with the right size brass contraption, you have enlarged the hole which was a precise diameter.
So is it now doa ???
That depends. So, how much did you enlarge it by ? And is it metered at entry ?
Some of these orifices are fed by a metered "jet" at the other end. If its one of those - and a look in the carb fuel flow diagram will tell you, or careful eyeballing by an expert (like me or someone else who is used to these carbs - maybe you - not your motorcycle shop mechanic - they dont have the ability IMHO of late anymore) where the fuel in that passage gets in. You may be OK or not.
Cool.
Buddha.
