Hi to all you lovely people! A while back I got a 1994 gs500e for my first "bigger bike" and I've been loving it. However, since I'm on the heavy side the stock rear shock had to go and I upgraded to a katana 600 one as suggested on the forum. Loved the mod, the bike was totally transformed. Now I have to upgrade the front springs as it tends to dive a lot under breaking. And here comes my weird question. I know there are aftermarket springs that are superb and will be a perfect fit but no one offers them here in Bulgaria. So can I get a set of springs from a donor bike and what would suite the gs forks?
You can't (sorry typo earlier - I said can - that's wrong) just put springs from another bike, but sonic or progressive etc make springs for the GS.
You can with a bit of machining fit an entire katana FE into the GS. Of course with more fabbing you can get the gauges fitted up, and if you did the first machining right the steering lock will work too.
That gets you 41mm fork legs and twin disks with clip on's. Plus those are far better quality than the crappy GS ones that always rust.
Cool.

Thanks, I was just wondering what springs would fit the forks if someone has already tried it.
I know about the aftermarket ones but noone sells them in Bulgaria as I mentioned in my first post. I don't want to do a whole front end swap for now as I don't have the time for such a job at the moment though I admit it is rather tempting.
Some times you can fit a longer spacer but IMHO that makes it more harsh.
Cool.

Thanks, I've just seen your correction on the previous post. I'll be looking for a way to order some aftermarket ones then.
